- This includes self-assessment on skills for doing a job search & a range of career paths primarily related to social services and managing human resources. There didn't seem to be anything related to human-computer interaction or more techy uses of psychology.

- This seems to provide a broader view of psychology than DeGalan & Lambert.

Applying to graduate school in psychology
If there is any chance that you may want to go to grad school, you should be preparing yourself for it now. It should affect the classes you take and what you do outside of courses. In particular, you should get research experience. If you are interested in clinical or counseling psychology, research experience is good but so are other types of activities.
Career Services
Career Services provides resources to students applying to graduate schools.
E-books available through Galileo [Subject: Psychology Study and teaching (Graduate)]
- Keith-Spiegel, P., & Wiederman, M. W. (2000). The complete guide to graduate school admission: psychology, counseling, and related profession. Mahwah, NJ: Erlbaum. Electronic reproduction. Boulder, CO: NetLibrary, 2001. Call Number: BF77 .K35 2000eb

- Chapter 9 "The Mentoring Relationship in Psychology Training Programs" is particularly informative about the complexities of advisor/advisee relationships and why choosing whom to work with is such a huge decision (just reading through the tables can be informative).
- Chapter 8 "Students and Faculty: The Growth of Relationships" might be more scary than helpful before starting graduate school, but contains good information for 1st and 2nd year grad students.

- Getting in : a step-by-step plan for gaining admission to graduate school in psychology. (1993). Washington, DC: American Psychological Association. Call Number: BF80.7 .U6 G47 1993
Graduate Records Exam
Graduate Records Exam (GRE): Usually you will need to take the GRE General Test and sometimes the Psychology Subject Test in the summer or fall before you apply to schools. The subject test is usually not weighted terribly highly and the best preparation for it is to read an introduction to psychology textbook. It will cost some amount to send your scores to the programs you apply to. To save money, use the free number notifications that you get when you take the exam.
Where to get a GRE bulletin on campus:
- at the Graduate Studies Office at Georgia Tech (suite 307 or suite 318, Savant Building)
- at most academic departments
- at the career services resource library in the Success Center
