Undergraduate Courses
Psychology is the study of mental processes and the relationship between these processes and behavior. Psychology researchers have a variety of perspectives on mental processes and behavior and a variety of methods for investigating these topics. The undergraduate curriculum provides a broad-based natural and social science approach to the science of psychology. Required courses in areas such as mathematics, biology, and chemistry complement the psychology courses. The curriculum also stresses methodological skills so students learn the fundamentals of how to ask and answer questions about behavior. These skills generalize to many non-psychology work settings.
The curriculum is technically oriented and stresses quantitative and experimental approaches to the study of behavior. Courses for psychology majors provide an excellent opportunity for direct interactions with faculty and other students. Various courses also have labs associated with them to enhance students' research and statistical skills.
The low student-faculty ratio allows close interaction between faculty and students and allows the School to have a personal and friendly environment.
The Georgia Institute of Technology Course Catalog lists all courses. Courses for the current and upcoming semesters are available at OSCAR web.
