Academic Professional

The COLLEGE OF SCIENCES of the GEORGIA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY in Atlanta, GA invites applications for a 12-month, regular, non-tenure track instructional faculty position (Academic Professional) to support the B.S. program in Neuroscience and the B.S. program in Psychology. The position will require classroom teaching as well as curriculum development and undergraduate advisement. Preferred candidates will have expertise at the interface of neuroscience and psychology. A PhD in a relevant discipline is strongly preferred, but ABD will be deemed acceptable if the degree is expected by June 2018.  Candidates should submit their application as a single PDF file that contains: a letter of application designating the position of interest, a statement of teaching philosophy, a summary of teaching experiences, a curriculum vita, and the names and contact information of three professional references. Position description

This Academic Professional position (non-tenure track, instructional faculty) is a new 12-month appointment that is associated with the new B.S. Program in neuroscience. The individual will teach and contribute to the development of the program.

Initial responsibilities include: (1) teaching one course per semester (fall, spring, summer) that will include a lower division class in the School of Psychology (e.g., Introduction to Psychology, or Research Methods in Psychology) and a neuroscience elective class and/or capstone class; (2) teaching a neuroscience section of the GT 1000 seminar course “First Year Seminar” for new neuroscience or psychology majors, depending on need (3) curriculum development; (4) undergraduate advisement of psychology and neuroscience majors; and (5) other duties as assigned.
