In the past, my areas of research interests focused on cognitive development, especially memory and problem solving development in young children. I have conducted research on developmental differences between implicit and explicit memory, between category related material and unrelated material, and on changes in memory strategy use with age. I have also been interested in the impact of parenting style on the cognitive development of young children. More recently, I have become interested in cross-cultural issues in human development; particularly cultural differences in the development of children and differences in child rearing across cultures. I have been involved full time in international education administration here at Georgia Tech and at Emory University for a number of years. During this lengthy time period, I have not been active in research. However, I would be interested in working, particularly with undergraduates, on research projects of mutual interest.
