Dr. Wendy Rogers is currently a Professor in the School of Psychology at Georgia Institute of Technology in the Engineering and Experimental Psychology Programs. She received her B. A. from the University of Massachusetts - Dartmouth, and her M. S. (1989) and Ph.D. (1991) from Georgia Institute of Technology. Her research interests include skill acquisition, human factors, training, and cognitive aging. Her research is currently funded by the National Institutes of Health (National Institute on Aging) as part of the Center for Applied Cognitive Research on Aging. She serves on the editorial boards of Psychology and Aging, Experimental Aging Research, Ergonomics in Design, and Human Factors. She is immediate past president of Division 21 (Applied Experimental and Engineering Psychology) of the American Psychological Association. She is also a member of the Executive Council of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society. Dr. Rogers received the Earl A. Alluisi Award for Early Career Achievement in Research on Applied Experimental and Engineering Psychology from Division 21 of the American Psychological Association and the Springer Award for Early Career Achievement in Research on Adult Development and Aging from Division 20 of American Psychological Association. Dr. Rogers’ recent studies of age-related changes in cognition have included the development of new knowledge structures and the influence of cognitive strategies on performance. She is particularly interested in how these cognitive changes interact with new technologies such as computers and home health care technologies. She has disseminated her research findings extensively through 29 published journal articles, nearly 80 conference presentations, and over 25 invited presentations. |
