About Me
My undergraduate years were spent at Berry College in northern Georgia where I majored in psychology and biology. As an undergrad I also participated in an internship at Yerkes National Primate Research Center. There I worked with Bill Hopkins studying the effect of genetic polymorphisms on personality traits in chimpanzees. After graduation in 2003 I came to the Georgia Institute of Technology with an interest in studying the neurological basis visual perception and attention.

Current Research Interests
My graduate advisor, Eric Schumacher, and I are at present developing a program of research to study the perceptual and cognitive effects of individuals diagnosed with a progressive eye disease, macular degeneration. I also have a general interest in studying neural plasticity, specifically the reorganization of topographical representations as a natural, dynamic process of the neocortex.
